Nature Preserve Foundation

The Watershed Nature Center is managed by the Nature Preserve Foundation, a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation is comprised of a volunteer Board of Directors. The Directors serve the community through their thoughtful and skillful management of our native habitats, educational programs, and public outreach.

Caption Text Our Welcome Center is managed by Chairo Shaffer. She has worked for the Watershed Nature Center since 2005, starting as a volunteer, then moving into the position of Education Director, and now serving as Office Manager / Volunteer Coordinator. Chairo has three young boys who have come to know the Watershed as an extension of their environment and enjoy the trails on a regular basis. "There is something so special about this place and the volunteers who have made it all possible. I am blessed to work alongside and learn from a wonderful group of people who love and care about the Watershed and what it offers to the community as a whole."
